Canoeing In Georgia

Canoeing in GeorgiaNothing like taking your camera somewhere where it could be destroyed or lost in a second. I dropped my video camera in the river on this trip while trying to avoid some branches. I have only dropped my Holga once when it fell out of my backpack on a trip to Montana at the train station but it didn’t break. It smashed onto the tiles, back flew off, film went flying and the rest of the camera came into several parts but was luckily easy to put together. The film however was ruined sadly. Lookout Mountain Mobile Home Park Sign

Lookout Mountain Mobile Home Park, Chattanooga, TN

By Katya Killer of Light Katya Laroche

Chattanooga is probably one of my favorite cities in the South. Its friendly, modern, clean and has lots of vegetarian food. Another thing I love about it is that is has tons of old billboards and signs for business that flourished int he past, and survive today. I hope towns like this never replace these signs.

Ask for Bob. Alabama

Ask for Bob, Tire Shop Tennessee

By Katya Killer of Light Katya Laroche

Driving around Alabama we saw lots of vintage singnage and beautiful places. On the way to Chattanooga from Birmingham Alabama, we needed some new tires for out trailer or risked getting a flat on the freeway on a 100 degree day. We stopped in a small town and called every tire place we could. The only person available was a mobile mechanic who ironically had us meet him at his shop. His name was bob, and he was pretty annoyed to be putting on new tires in the heat. He was even more annoyed that I took his picture as he changed the tires (for our travel blog, not to be rude), but at least he put the tires on right and we didnt die on the freeway or get stuck somewhere. Thanks bob!
