The Blue Ribbon Tea Company are some good friends of mine and a great show to see. I've seen them several times and have all their albums naturally and this show was one in my then hometown of Portland Oregon at a small local cafe. Their music is modern folk, featuring 2 very talented musicians and vocalists strumming and fiddling story telling songs to keep your ears alert. Definitely not background music. Sloss Furnace however is about 3000 miles away from there in Birmingham Alabama. I was not sure, as usual, what was actually on the film when I took the photo but as usual, it worked out to my satisfaction. Members of The Blue Ribbon Tea Company are from the south, and their rustic reminiscent music, that often references the south, seem to go perfect with the historic Sloss Furnaces. Driving around Alabama we saw lots of vintage singnage and beautiful places. On the way to Chattanooga from Birmingham Alabama, we needed some new tires for out trailer or risked getting a flat on the freeway on a 100 degree day. We stopped in a small town and called every tire place we could. The only person available was a mobile mechanic who ironically had us meet him at his shop. His name was bob, and he was pretty annoyed to be putting on new tires in the heat. He was even more annoyed that I took his picture as he changed the tires (for our travel blog, not to be rude), but at least he put the tires on right and we didnt die on the freeway or get stuck somewhere. Thanks bob!
