Double Trouble, The Blue Ribbon Tea Company and Sloss Furnaces

The Blue Ribbon Tea Company are some good friends of mine and a great show to see. I've seen them several times and have all their albums naturally and this show was one in my then hometown of Portland Oregon at a small local cafe. Their music is modern folk, featuring 2 very talented musicians and vocalists strumming and fiddling story telling songs to keep your ears alert. Definitely not background music. Sloss Furnace however is about 3000 miles away from there in Birmingham Alabama. I was not sure, as usual, what was actually on the film when I took the photo but as usual, it worked out to my satisfaction. Members of The Blue Ribbon Tea Company are from the south, and their rustic reminiscent music, that often references the south, seem to go perfect with the historic Sloss Furnaces. Canoeing In Georgia

Nothing like taking your camera somewhere where it could be destroyed or lost in a second. I dropped my video camera in the river on this trip while trying to avoid some branches. I have only dropped my Holga once when it fell out of my backpack on a trip to Montana at the train station but it didn’t break. It smashed onto the tiles, back flew off, film went flying and the rest of the camera came into several parts but was luckily easy to put together. The film however was ruined sadly. New Orleans was my home for about 4 months this summer and I got plenty of shots, though always feel like I could have gotten more. I didn’t go out much, worked days and most of the weekends it rained. This was one weekend when we got out and about in Magazine Street area. We’re in Tennessee now and I miss NOLA!

I dont think people use lens flare enough. Theres no telling if somethign will come out or if the light will overpower the photo but when it works its a great marriage of reality and surreality. Something that can be seen with the eye and portrayed 2 dimensionally is always something great to see. If your eyes would stop watering long enough to stare into this light, this is what it might look like

A snowy day in the desert of New Mexico. It was soo cold! but I managed to shoot off a few while my dog ran a muck.
